About Florence:
Florence Mano is the President of Mano’s Material Creations, a Phoenixville-based custom embroidery and sewing company. Florence began her career in architectural drafting where she designed commercial and residential buildings until she was married and started a family. She became a full-time mother allowing her to focus on her life-long love of sewing and creating tailored specialty pieces out of fabric.

Life changes brought new opportunities and Florence began a career at the Phoenixville Hospital where she worked in the Radiology department for the next 17 years. She continued sewing to help provide extras for her children while raising them as a single parent. As her kids reached their high school years, Florence met and married a wonderful man who helped her pursue her dreams to start her own embroidery and sewing company. Mano’s Material Creations was founded in 2002 to provide high-quality, custom embroidery and signature apparel for all the seasons of life. Mano’s designs and produces thoughtful gifts, apparel for teams, clubs, and businesses, as well as liturgical vestments and paraments.

Founding Mano’s Material Creations has allowed Florence to meet many wonderful people and become involved with great volunteer opportunities. She became well-versed in religious seasons, church history and traditions while volunteering as the head of the Arts and Environment sub-team of the Liturgy Team at her church.

Florence shares her talents by teaching sewing at a local 4-H Club and a men’s rehabilitation facility. Additionally, she co-founded a project called “Mixed Threads” that repurposes discarded designer fabrics to create wearable works of art such as jackets, handbags, and quilts. Her work was recently reviewed by Laurel Hoffman, a well-known, local fashion designer, professor, and author. When she’s not stitching, Florence enjoys gardening, biking, and spending time with her husband and grandchildren.
